I actually dropped my sister's ixus 400 into a pail of concentrated potassium hydroxide (if yall're wondering if it's the one i've been bringing to our outings, yes that's the one). I really don't know how it could have happened...but yes, it did. And I thought it was stolen. It was her 21st birthday present from her boyfriend and yet it was destroyed in the hands of her retarded brother. Wonderful.
The worse part's that she has sort of forgiven me about it. $700?! If it were me, I would have severed all ties with whoever did that.
Well, I'm still in a state of shock and disbelieve. A corroded camera. What the hell. I think I broke her heart.
And the approaching june common tests and more-than-intensive-training (this fri, sat and sun) aren't exactly helping.

hurhur... i am speechless. but not at all appalled, considering the number of SUPER MORONS i hang out with on a DAILY basis. your incident is unusual, but trust me, really STUPID things happen ALL THE TIME, if that makes you feel better. i could die laughing at all the moronic things that my classmates do everyday.

sigh...i called up canon then this guy was saying through experience, the cost of repairing any camera that gets direct contact with any liquid is equivalent to buying a new one. i think i'm going to the service centre some time next week to try my luck. at least save the pictures. the battery and memory card both are destroyed too.

well...it was a pail of solution to strip off photopolymer off metal plates for my a level coursework involving printmaking. cos on that fateful day, the school gates were like closing in 5 min time and i was in the art room hurriedly packing my stuff...then the pail cover got displaced. i thought i'd accidentally kicked the pail, so i placed the cover back...i mean who would have thought that the camera dropped into it? yeah..so...17 hours later, i returned to school thinking that i left my camera on the art room table. but i couldn't find any camera...so i thought it was stolen or misplaced. i turned the artroom upside down, called up all the places i went to the day before and even suspected someone i knew stole it...and 5 hours later, i found it in the KOH pail. YAY. it was like originally silver but became brownish-black..can you imagine? SIGH. 22 hours soaked in KOH. What the hell. Loser. Loser. Loser.
